Andrey Rublev Storms into Australian Open Quarterfinals
Russian Beats de Minaur to Extend Unblemished Start
Andrey Rublev has continued his impressive form at the Australian Open, reaching the quarterfinals after a dominant victory over Alex de Minaur in the fourth round.
The fifth seed Russian extended his perfect start to the season to 8-0, overpowering the home favorite in straight sets (6-2, 6-2, 6-3).
Rublev's victory marks his 300th career win, a significant milestone in the 25-year-old's career. He will now face Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals, a player he has defeated twice in their previous encounters.
In his on-court interview, Rublev credited his aggressive play and consistency for his victory. "I wanted to start strong and stay aggressive throughout the match," he said. "I'm happy with the way I played today."
Rublev's performance was a testament to his current form, having won a title in Adelaide earlier this month. His victory over de Minaur sets up an intriguing clash with Sinner, who is also in excellent form and has yet to drop a set in the tournament.
